Trosa is an idyllic little town in Sörmland, located by the sea, 45 minutes south of Stockholm. It is a small picturesque town along the Trosa River with small shops and cafés. Trosa has always attracted authors and artists, and the stories are many of their stays at Stadshotellet.
The charming Trosa became a popular seaside resort in the latter part of the 19th century. Stadshotellet and, not least, its garden was a centre for resort guests. This is where they stayed and where the big feasts were held.
Today, Stadshotellet is a modern, family-owned hotel with genuine charm and atmosphere from times gone by. It is newly renovated with a lovely sunny courtyard that warms up on cool summer evenings.
Trosa Stadshotell has a dining hall and a function room with white tablecloths and cut-glass chandeliers as well as a modern bistro. Stadshotel¬let’s kitchen has high ambitions. It uses local produce as far as possible and has an excellent wine cellar.
In 2011, Trosa Stadshotell was awarded ‘ÅRETS VÄRDSKAP’ (Host of the Year) with the motivation that ‘Trosa Stadshotell & Spa has successfully made the most of its history and developed its business in recent years. New ideas such as “Theatre in the garden”, “Champagne bar on the quay” at this year’s regatta and a new welcoming spa have put Trosa Stadshotell on the map. Being an excellent host is always at the centre, with thoughtfulness and creativity permeating everything from the small details in the decoration to the professional reception by the staff.
The hotel has 44 rooms and 70 beds. The rooms include beautifully decorated mini-suites and a honeymoon suite on two floors with a private balcony, whirlpool bath and skylights over the bed.
The hotel has a new spa with lovely treatments and a relaxation area with a hot spring, aroma room, and dry and steam saunas. There is also a training room, a spa lounge with a bar, and a shop with beauty body and care products.
Conference groups of up to approx 80 guests are welcome.
In the summer, there are two golf courses within a few kilometres and a beautiful archipelago that can be reached on a boat trip from the harbour.
Trosa Stadshotell & Spa is open daily, though the restaurant is closed on Sundays and the Reception closes at 2 pm on Sundays.
